Dora Pena | San Ildefonso Potter | Penfield Gallery of Indian Arts | Albuquerque | New Mexico Dora Pena is a wonderful San Ildefonso Pueblo artist whose pots have sold worldwide for years. Dora was born at Zia Pueblo, and was influenced in pottery making by her Zia Pueblo mother, Candelaria Gachupin, and her former mother-in-law, Rose Gonzales. Dora makes exquisite red and black traditional pots adorning them with beautifully carved Avanyus or water serpents and gorgeous inlaid turquoise gems.
